"Business trip"

I can really relate to Jeannette being a daddy's girl. When Rex asks for the $20 for his " business trip" and asks Jeannette to come with him, i was not expecting him to take her to a bar. Even though he is an alcoholic, i didn't think he would stoop as low as bringing his 13 year old daughter to the bar and let her go to a mans room alone. This shows how desperate he is for alcohol and money. Its disturbing to think he chose the alcohol over his family. But i guess only an alcoholic would know the craving is strong enough to sell off his own daughter.

Bad Parenting

In my opinion, the mother should have never had children if she couldnt take care f them. Hiding food, refusing to go to work because she "doesnt like it", and letting Rex take all the money to support his drinking problem is not responsible parenting. She cares more about her art then she does for her children. I hope some day she opens her eyes and realizes the wrong she has done to her children.

The Bottle

Rex's drinking has a huge impact on Walls family. All the money goes towards his alcohol so there's no money for heat or food. Everyone fights over who gets to sleep with the dogs just for the extra heat. They also fight over what food they have. You know how bad they have it when their own mother hides the chocolate bar from the family, most mothers would share with their children. The kids have to grow up twice as fast just to survive. In my opinion its good because it teaches the kids how to live on their own and they appreciate things a lot more.

Jeanette's Burns.

Jeanette was left to fend for herself because Rose Mary (her mother) wasn't feeding her, so she decided she wanted hot dogs. Jeanette shows her maturity and brains by grabbing a chair, filling a pot with water and tries boiling hot dogs. Sadly she caught her dress on fire and got burned, but that level of maturaty at the age of 3 is incredible.
